invisible children.

Ok, so do you remember last year the assembly on the Invisible Children?
I cried.
I've also been trying to remember what foundation supported this cause. I remembered it today!!

Isn't that darling?!
This is an awesome cause, and the little things really mean a lot to them.
Please go onto their website and donate. Even if it's buying a bracelet.
School supplies for a child is $10, and it won't mean that much to us to give up that money, but it will mean everything and more to one lucky kid.

The world looks away and pretends there is no poverty anymore. Poverty is everywhere, and it should affect every single one of us.

Help support this cause and pass the word along.

Love, Amy

winner winner chicken dinner.

Have you ever had those days where you feel fantastically FRIGGIN' lucky?
(today was one of those days)
Here's just a few reasons;

  • Boss from corporate called me and said (exact quote) "thank you for taking initiative, you've been a real asset to this company. Good work." Baller son.
  • Bought henna for $1.75(plus tax) in a shady little indian store that serves chicken legs. Salt lake scares me.
  • Won a radio contest! Thank you U92.5 for being awesome. But, you might want to tell me which movie premier I have won tickets to...
  • Went shopping with Lisa, found some great deals. Followed by Costa. Yummy.
  • Found a $100 dollar bill!! hehe jk, but I did find a penny...face up. UH
  • Didn't catch one red light
  • Got a letter from Michael:)
These days never happen. I was expecting to find a pot of gold in the toilet, and a leprechaun in my bed.

If your ever bored, check out this blog. It's adorable and has the tendency to make you want to get married. Like now.

I like this picture too:)

Well wow. This post was kinda random and meaningless....but it's whatevers. hahah

the shot heard round the world

Being alone 98% of the time allows for much thought, the topic of consideration today was American History.
Being human is a gift, but can also be a curse. One fact about being human, is that all humans sin. The 7 deadly sins are termed as gluttony, lust, greed, sloth, despair, envy and pride. We all feel these emotions from day to day, it is our instinct. Humans are like animals. These instincts can overpower our good judgment in an instant. When we choose to act upon these impulses, history teaches that it really can be deadly.
The American Revolutionary War was started by a single shot, that even to this day no one is quite sure who fired it. Some even believe it was an accident, or an innocent farmer doing his job in the distance. This single shot was harmless… or so the man with the gun probably thought. But it started a war, and would forever be part of the history books.
The Americans and Englishmen took the shot as an opportunity. Their pride and wrath masked everything else important to them. At that instant each man involved probably didn’t think about how this would affect their wives and children, their brothers and their friends.
Although the war was good, and secured freedom for America, today I want to settle another “war” that has shaken up from one single “shot”.
People often do things that make the animal come out in others. Whether it was intended or not... Their envy, pride, wrath, or whatever other instinct it is, clouds their vision to what is really important. Today I want to practice some virtues to exterminate these truly deadly sins.
When I feel I have been wronged, I feel angry, and my pride keeps the grudge hot on my shoulders. But being mad and stuck up doesn’t let you keep the things that really matter.
In my life, I am grateful to say I have a wonderful family, many great opportunities, and a handful of incredible friends. Although my family is dysfunctional at times, I may not seize opportunities, or I might mess them up, and at times having friends so close can cause problems… I know if I did not have them, I would be incomplete. If I didn’t have problems, how would I know when I do have it really good? Everything breaks, nothing lasts once its warranty is expired, and all good times come to an end. I believe that most everything can be fixed; it’s only a matter of if it’s worth fixing. My friends mean the world to me, and I know that every little tiff we get in can be fixed and is worth every effort and humbling that it takes to resolve. One philosophy I have developed throughout life is that if I cannot forgive, I can’t expect to be forgiven when I do something stupid.
“A friend is someone who knows all about you, but loves you anyway.” –Anon

No matter what, I will always love my friends, each and every one of them. i love them in the best and worst of times… and I will always forgive them. I would be nothing without them, and nothing is worth losing them.

Love, Holly

My Apologies.

So it has been almost a month since any one of us has written.
I decided I needed to put something up here.
First of all, It has been so hard lately for everyone.
Everyone is so busy and there is never enough time to see eachother.
We have, though, been able to see eachother for the last few parties and birthdays that have happened in the past month.
I am starting to get the real feel of what it is like to grow up.
For example: Chunie Johnson used to be one of us four. She moved away and none of us ever see her anymore.
We are all growing up and most likely we will not see each other as often anymore.
I get the feeling I am the next one to go.
I know that no one really wants to be around me, or talk to me, or anything like that because of the last month or so.
I wanted to apologize if I ever did or said anything to you that offended you in any way.
I love all of you and I hope you are having a great school year.
And I am sincerely sorry for everything.

Snaps for you.

I just wanted to say I love my bestest friends. They always know when you're having a bad day and always have just the right thing to say. 2 years is the explanation for this little break down. Oh and I might of walked into work this morning with puffy eyes, and I might of started bawling and telling my co-worker my life story...yeah that might of happened. Awesome. All 3 of my wonderful friends told me they love me this week and that simple text made me feel a little better. I feel like everyone is leaving and/or moving away. Holly is in Logan, Lauren is going to Idaho, and me and Ally have work all the time. It's times like these when this quote really makes it's stance...

This is a cheesy post, but I love you guys, and I'll always be there for ya:)

Oh and a holler to my sister Lisa. She knows when I need an encouraging text and a run to Costa.

"Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to Brigham Young University. Rich blessings and life-changing opportunities await you here.We look forward to having you on our campus and feel that you will be an asset to this university.Sincerely,

Admissions Committee"

Unfortunately, this isnt the place i was expecting. I was considered not smart enough to go to BYU Hawaii. So i will be staying close as i go off to college. I was accepted to BYU-Idaho and hopefully i will like it there. I hate the cold and i dont know how im going to handle it. But it should be fun and you guys can come visit :)
I hope that this means we can still go on our spring break trip to mexico.
I miss all of you. I never see any of you girls even though i live like 2 miles away from most of you.
Love you

homesick..... literally

Greetings from Logan, Utah! Where the skies are blue and moods are even blue-r!
For those of you who haven't already guessed, it's Holly here, coming from house.
(I call it house because it doesn't deserve to be called home)
Being the only one away from home, it's been a bit hard for me to write on this cute little blog.
I feel kind of distant from the others... (if you know what I mean)
Despite the distance, I did invite my good pals to come up here for true aggie night this thursday;
too bad I'd be the only one to never become a true aggie.
And I'm the only one going to USU.
Anyways, to take this sad tone to the next level, it's time for a little story I like to call
Repunzel, Please Pick Up Your Hair

My name is Holly. I'm kinda shy; but I have this weird personality where I think I can do anything.
I decided to come to Utah State, alone. My roommate was a mystery.
I had many ideas of what she would be like:
crazy and fun?
shy and sweet?
sporty and outdoorsy?
....or totally weird...
It was a chance I was willing to take. I had this weird idea that if I came alone, I would make lots of friends.
I mean, how bad could she be? She's a girl, and most girls are pretty clean and nice... Right?

My roommate's name is Melissa. She's from good ol' Hyrum, Utah (about 5 miles from Logan).
She's a Senior in Accounting, and she's 20 years old.
This is also her first time moving away from home.
Melissa, being from a tiny farming town, has strange sleeping habits (and social skills).
She hates movies, loves wearing any color bland, works at 3 different Walmart stores, and everytime I walk in my room I'm greeted by a beautiful stampede of horses galloping across her bedspread.
I'm not one to judge harshly, and despite my shy nature, I tried to be friends with her.
One boring friday night, I invited her and another roommate to share some popcorn and a chickflick.
She declined, saying she had other plans. I thought,
"Oh good for her, I wish I had friends to go do something with"
Later, I discovered she hadn't actually gone out with friends,
she had gone up to bed.
It was 8:30pm.
Every night thereafter, she has assumed this schedule.
Sleep: 8:30pm, Wake: 5:00am.
I really, really, really, really love my sleep.
I don't think she knows how to use her "my roommate is asleep at 5am and her next class isn't till 9:30, so I should be quiet because she probably wants to stay asleep until a later hour" part of her brain.
Although being woken up at 5 every morning isn't that big of a deal, I have officially met my doom.
Along with loving my sleep, I also have a thing about hair.
I don't like it.
Dog, cat, human, whatever the species, please don't leave your hair around for me to find.

And there you have it, my own personal hell on earth. Right there. In my own shower. Where I clean my body and feel rejuvenated after a long school day.

Someone PLEASE save me from the horror.

And the worst part: she doesn't have a shaver in there.
I do.
I slept on the couch last night.
I couldn't be in the same room as that monster.
It made me sick.
I wanna go back home.

Amy, Ally, Lauren...............I MISS YOU

You truly don't know who your friends are until you really need them.
I think we can all agree this was a stupid weekend, and stupid people are stupid.
Yeah that's repetitive but so are people and their lies.
People's children these days, gall. No bona fide kids anymore.

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

Best Friends Are Forever, Boyfriends are Whatever..

It is apparent, already, that I'm not a very good blogger.
Hopefully over time that will change and ill be able to write whatever i want without thinking about it.
So as a beginner, i just want to tell my friends how much i love them.
I have had ridiculously amazing times with my three best friends. I have done everything hummanly possibly with them (except for the select few things which shouldn't be done between 4 girls, if you know what i mean..)
So since i have known holly the longest, i will start with her..

Me and Holly have known each other since at least 4th grade. We grew up living 2 blocks away, both being the oldest with three younger brothers. We, of course, were best friends. We went to swim team practice every morning and probably ended up practicing once every two weeks. the other times, we hid out in the showers because we hated it.
Holly's mom eventually started us up a club soccer team, i think when we were in 6th grade.
Of course, we sucked.
Our team did get better though and ended up being one of the best.
(i did not help the team get better whatsoever)
Anyways, we were friends through most of junior high and high school.
We did potato science projects together. Threw stuffed animals on my fan during sleepovers. And of course, got into a few cat fights.
Through everything, im so grateful that holly is my friend and i will love and respect her forever no matter what.

I have known Amy since 7th grade. We shared the same physical education class together for four years. Those were some of the best times back in the day.
We had our daily routines of making fun of Miss. Lloyd and beating the record for the fastest mile together. (I'm pretty sure we even beat the boys)
We stayed close friends throughout high school. We played soccer together. We've vandalized things together. We've gone on spontaneous trips together, that our parents don't know about. Pretty much, we get away with anything and no one ever knows..
I freakin adore Amy and I'm so glad shes my friend! I don't know what i would do without her.

And, of course, Ally.
I think of all the girls, she is the one who has heard the most complaining from me. She takes my crap waaay too much. Yet, shes still here for me every time i need her.
Me and ally knew each other form soccer but really weren't too fond of each other.
Our sophomore year, we realized we had something in common: We were both angry at the same people. (haha amy..) (i don't even remember why)
So i invited ally to come to California with me for spring break. We had the deepest conversations about missionaries and other things.
Immediately we were best friends.
We drove around about every day and just listened to music. We even came up with the most creative ways to get back at people.
I'm really glad ally has been my friend through everything. She might be stubborn, but she has a very big heart.

I love all my girls with all my heart and i always will. I hope that through everything, we can still be best friends forever. I look forward to the future when we can go to lunch together and talk about our children and husbands and leave behind the dramas of high school and college and the boys they bring along.
Love you guys.

It turns out, he's a real douche.

I would highly suggest that you take a listen to V.V. Browns, Shark in the Water. Catchy. Go here.

This song relates to my life today.

Today I found out I was innocently involved in money laundering.
I didn't know exactly what that meant, so thanks Google for clearing that up.

Money laundering is the process of changing large amounts of money obtained from crimes, such as drug trafficking, into origination from a legitimate source. It is a crime in many jurisdictions with varying definitions. It is a key operation of the underground economy.

Screw you David Wood or is that really even your real name boss?

It's called the 419 scam. They use the plight of HIV infected children to pull on your heartstrings to get you to do what they want. Luckily... I didn't fall for it. I spent the time slot of  2:00-3:30am to research this scam this morning. If anyone sends you cashiers checks in the mail and asks you to re-direct it, don't fall for it. Even if there is $550 cash in it for you.

   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Tonight we are attempting to hike Timp to see the sunrise. Given me and Ally's talent of almost falling off the mountain while hiking the G, boys are coming. Thank goodness. I've only heard horror stories of hiking Timp, and i'm really hoping that my clumsiness doesn't result in fatal death. Wish me luck.

boredom brings out the worst.

You like mullets?
You like cats?
Go here.

Here's a little sneak peak for the curious cats.

His complexion is real nice.

what happens in mexico...

Holly had a genius idea this morning. Spring Break trip with us 4 girls? Mexico...?
Freak yeah.
I got real excited and looked up flights and hotels...and I have already decided i'm going to buy fake silver from a vendor and pretend that it's genuine and wear it everywhere. Super stoked right about now.
To add on to this  exciting day, Holly is coming home this weekend!
Can you say; window marker repeat?
"I wonder what he's thinking right now...?

don't be so forward

My friends have a special way of letting me know they care.
Mostly through forwards.
You might say, "those are stupid, annoying, and junior high-ish."
But someone, somewhere is desperate enough to believe in them
and confident enough to send them to everyone in their contact list.
And that's what makes them so special.
Thanks for your love and concern guys.

Fwd,fwd. First i want you to know that you are amazing and you are my friend till death. If i dont get this back i understand but i have a game for you. Once you read this letter you must send it to 15 people that you really care about, including the person who sent it to you. If you recieve at least 6 back, then you are loved. On one knows what they have untill they lose it. You never leave the person you love for the person you like because the person you like will leave you for the person they love. This is for real. Do not delete. Seriously! This is the love frog. This girl got this frog and she laughed and thought it was cute so she sent it all over the place:) well the next day the love of her life came up to her and asked her out on a date! This love frog controls everyones love life. Later in their lives they got married. This one guy got this love frog and said it was bull. So he deleted it. The next day his wife left him and said that she didnt really love him. He realized that the love frog does control love. So he found the message and sent it to 50 people. He really did love this girl and once every person got it, his wife came back he saw what it did. She gave him a big kiss and said she loved him :) now you have one hour to send this to 20 people or you will never meet the love of your life or your girl/guy will leave you. Read this message do not delete it or ignore it. One day a girl was dreaming about the perfect guy & she recieved this message. She read it a few times & sent it to all her friends. The next day at the mall she saw her dream guy. He walked up to her & they became best friends & eventually went out & were married years later. A boy was texting his girlfriend when he recieved this message. He read it, laughed & deleted it, thinking his life couldn't get any better. Then two days later when he was supposed to go out with his girl, she never showed up & as he was driving away he heard on the radio, his girlfriend had been in a car accident & died. He also lost his mother & his best friend. He decided to find the message & he sent it. He found out his girlfriend & best friend were not dead, just in a coma. His mom did not survive. If you care about the people around you, you'll send this to 10 people NO SEND BACKS.!!! & before midnight something will make you very happy:)
